No. 62 - Kawhi Leonard

All of the drama surrounding Kawhi Leonard this past season totally obscures the fact that Leonard was carving out a place for himself as one of the 50 best players in NBA history.

He already is one of the rare players with an NBA Finals MVP. He has two seasons of over 25.0 PER and 13.0 win shares. Leonard won the NBA Finals MVP in 2013-2014, but statistically he was much better in 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. In his first six seasons, he’s already had more than three seasons above 300.00 in my system.

If Kawhi cranks out four more average seasons – average by his standards – he’ll easily move into the top 50. Of course, Leonard has a whole new situation. As long as he gets healthy, he’ll zoom up this list. If he gets back to the level he was playing at in 2016-2017 he could approach the top 25.
